We are seeking a skilled Palliative Care Specialist to join our team as a Band 7 clinical nurse specialist. The successful candidate will work autonomously in a palliative care environment, delivering expert nursing services and managing patient caseloads.

About the Role

The Palliative Care Specialist will be responsible for providing holistic support to patients and their families, including symptom management and comprehensive management plans. This role requires strong leadership development skills, computer literacy, and advanced assessment skills.

The ideal candidate will have significant post-registration experience, ideally with a minimum of 2 years working in palliative care. A post-registration qualification in Palliative Care or a relevant subject is also required.

The salary for this position is estimated at £54,320 - £60,981 per annum pro rata, reflecting the skills and qualifications required for this role.

This is a part-time position, working 2 days per week (9.5 hour days) over a 7-day week. The successful candidate will be an independent non-medical prescriber, able to adhere to a clear scope of practice for prescribing in palliative care or willing to work towards it.

As a member of our team, you will be expected to participate in research and audit programs, contribute to the development of evidence-based clinical nursing practice, and link with other palliative care and primary care providers to facilitate care in the community.
