Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Child Rights Advocate to join our team in Bournemouth. As a key member of our advocacy team, you will work directly with care-experienced children and young people, providing them with support and guidance to help them navigate the complexities of their lives.

As a Child Rights Advocate, you will be responsible for engaging effectively with professionals, carers, and other stakeholders to ensure the rights and needs of children and young people are met. You will also work closely with our Children's Rights Managers to develop and implement strategies to promote the rights of young people.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide advocacy support to care-experienced children and young people in the community and various settings.
  • Work closely with professionals, carers, and other stakeholders to ensure the rights and needs of children and young people are met.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote the rights of young people, in collaboration with our Children's Rights Managers.
  • Engage effectively with children and young people, using a variety of methods to communicate and understand their needs.
Requirements:
  • A strong understanding of children's rights and advocacy principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and young people, as well as professionals and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meet the needs of our service users.
  • Experience of working with vulnerable children and young people, preferably in a similar role or context.
