Nuclear Power Plant Quality Assurance Role

Balfour Beatty is seeking an experienced Nuclear Quality Manager to join our team in delivering a major nuclear power plant project.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a quality management system (QMS) that meets the requirements of ISO 9001 and other industry standards. This includes developing supporting plans, procedures, and templates, as well as administering change requests and identifying opportunities for improvement.

The role requires strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work closely with the project team, supply chain, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.

About the Project

We are delivering the Sizewell C nuclear power plant project, which involves designing, financing, constructing, commissioning, operating, maintaining, and eventually decommissioning the plant. The project requires a highly skilled and experienced team to ensure its success.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A formal qualification in Quality Management, such as a Diploma from the UK Chartered Quality Institute or British Standards Institute;
  • Proven experience in quality management systems, preferably in the nuclear industry;
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior management, delivery teams, and stakeholders;
  • An understanding of quality and technical standards, including ISO 9001 and other relevant regulations;
  • Ability to influence and challenge existing ways of working to support improvements;
  • Good facilitation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with delivery teams, project managers, and supply chain partners.

We offer a competitive salary of £80,000 - £100,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including:
