Job Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Principal Site Leader to lead our Central Laboratory facility. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior leader to drive the delivery of customer and internal activities, setting standards and expectations in line with our values and behaviours.

Main Responsibilities
  • Exercise delegated authority from the Operations Director, ensuring seamless operation of the facility.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for delivery across all activities based in Central Lab, providing exceptional leadership and guidance.
  • Prioritise and deliver agreed programmes of work within Central Lab, aligning with NNL business plans and risk management priorities.
  • Collaborate with Heads of Capability to review performance, staff programmes, and priorities, driving continuous improvement.
  • Intervene on issues, maintaining the highest standards for the building and its people.
  • Support the facility's continuous improvement programmes as a senior sponsor.
  • Drive improvements in customer and facility recoveries through efficient ways of working and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work closely with assurance teams to identify areas of improvement or further reduction in risks.
Essential Criteria
  • Proven experience in managing operational facilities, people, and equipment on a nuclear site.
  • Demonstrated leadership of a facility, maximising its potential, including people and equipment.
  • Experience in developing relationships with internal and external stakeholders and supporting project delivery.
  • Expertise in managing multi-million pound budgets, cost control, financial forecasting, and planning.
  • Operational experience in a regulated environment, managing technical and facility programmes to high EHSS&Q standards.
  • Leadership experience in driving cultural change through strategic business developments.
  • Technical knowledge of nuclear facility capabilities.
  • Able to obtain SC level security clearance.
Estimated Salary Range

£85,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
