Senior Vice President of Global Marketing

Role Overview:

We are in search of an innovative Marketing executive with a proven track record in unifying diverse perspectives to create a compelling integrated value proposition and market entry strategy. This pivotal role reports directly to the Chief Experience Officer (CXO) and is responsible for leading, inspiring, and nurturing a team of marketing professionals who work collaboratively across commercial, product, and technology divisions, establishing themselves as key strategic allies to the organization.

The successful candidate will possess a unique combination of strategic foresight, creative marketing techniques, and a focus on customer engagement to stimulate growth and solidify a robust market footprint. This position demands a leader adept at navigating competitive environments, utilizing S&P Global's ecosystem for cohesive marketing initiatives, and motivating a team to excel. The marketing strategies implemented will aim to position S&P Global Commodity Insights as the preferred partner for market data and insights, enhance our reputation for distinctive capabilities, benchmarks, and expertise, and strengthen relationships with vital clients.

As part of the CX leadership team, this role will influence and oversee customer journeys and experiences from initial contact through onboarding and renewal. Collaborating closely with sales, client services, product, and technology teams, the role will leverage events and digital interactions to gather insights and guide customers through critical decision-making moments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a motivated and successful Marketing team, fostering a culture that aligns with S&P's mission and values.
  • Oversee a global team of marketing specialists, operating at both strategic and tactical levels to create quality leads, enhance visibility, build trust, and deepen client relationships.
  • Develop and collaborate on market entry strategies and product launches aimed at driving business growth in established and emerging markets, ensuring alignment with the company's broader business and commercial goals.
  • Translate the overarching product strategy into a clear value proposition, articulating the unique benefits and advantages of Commodity Insights' offerings across product categories and customer segments.
  • Collaborate with product management, consulting, and events to synchronize marketing strategies with the evolving capabilities landscape, ensuring a cohesive narrative that resonates with target audiences.
  • Partner with sales and commercial leaders to implement global demand generation and account-based marketing strategies, executing digital, account-based, field marketing initiatives, and events to generate leads and meet pipeline objectives.
  • Work alongside customer experience and client service leaders to devise and implement retention and reactivation strategies, enhancing cross-selling, up-selling, and customer lifetime value.
  • Position Commodity Insights as thought leaders in key markets through curated content, events, and social media initiatives.
  • Develop co-marketing strategies with channel and cloud partners to enhance reach and growth in priority markets, segments, and accounts.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and spearhead innovation in digital marketing strategies, leveraging advanced technologies to boost operational efficiency and impact.
  • Align and execute targeted plans and playbooks, closely monitoring the effectiveness of strategies, localization, performance, and return on marketing investment.
  • Act as a customer advocate, understanding customer needs and driving necessary changes to ensure our brand remains relevant, preferred, and one of the most recognized and trusted brands among our target audience globally.
  • Gather and activate client insights from surveys and market research, continuously enhancing our customer experience and marketing engagement.
  • Manage the full spectrum of marketing operations, including automation, lead management, campaign orchestration, website management, data analytics, and reporting.
  • Establish a framework for prioritizing, allocating resources, and managing capacity for marketing resources across the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of B2B marketing management and leadership experience, including managing large, diverse teams across cultures and locations while influencing stakeholders.
  • Expertise in brand management, including global reputation management and share of voice.
  • Proficiency in customer marketing, including advocacy and referral initiatives.
  • Knowledge of website architecture and inbound customer acquisition strategies, along with digital marketing techniques.
  • Expertise in marketing technology, marketing automation, and customer data platforms, with integration experience with CRMs and event technologies.
  • Ability to translate business objectives and strategic investments into actionable plans that positively influence sales growth and performance.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment, collaborating across functions and adapting to a rapidly evolving organization.
  • Exceptional messaging and storytelling skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives that resonate with diverse audiences.
