Role Summary

We are seeking a Claims Specialist to become part of our team. We offer a competitive base salary of up to £25,000, commensurate with experience. This position is hybrid, allowing for a combination of in-office and remote work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessing and confirming eligibility for Group Protection Death in Service and Critical Illness claims in accordance with policy stipulations
  • Calculating the benefits payable for eligible claims
  • Preparing and authorizing payments for both new and existing claims
  • Requesting and collecting outstanding claim documentation from both internal and external stakeholders promptly
  • Building and nurturing strong relationships with Independent Financial Advisors (IFAs) and Policyholders (employers) to ensure positive customer outcomes
  • Contributing to our continuous improvement initiatives by sharing ideas and engaging in projects
  • Maintaining a consistent, timely, and accurate level of service in alignment with service level agreements, ensuring we meet customer expectations in accordance with Legal & General's Customer Experience and Treating Customers Fairly policies
  • Adhering to established processes and systems to ensure all customer data is managed appropriately, in compliance with legislation, particularly GDPR, the Access to Medical Reports Act, and Legal & General's Confidentiality policy

Candidate Profile

We are looking for individuals who possess:

  • Proficiency in IT, including Word, Excel, and other Microsoft applications
  • Minimum GCSE qualifications in English and Maths
  • Experience in customer service and/or administrative roles within the Insurance or Financial Services sectors
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities
  • Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good problem-solving and investigative capabilities
