Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Income Protection Claims Specialist to join our team at Legal & General Resources Limited. As a key member of our claims team, you will be responsible for assessing and resolving income protection claims in a fair and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Claims Assessment: Gather and evaluate evidence to determine the validity of income protection claims, ensuring that decisions are based on logical reasoning and in line with company policies.
  • Claims Resolution: Manage claims from start to finish, processing them in accordance with established guidelines to maintain quality and consistency across the team.
  • Customer Communication: Effectively communicate with customers through various channels, including phone, email, and letters, to ensure their expectations are met and unnecessary contact is minimized.
  • Liaison and Collaboration: Work with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, third-party providers, and colleagues, to obtain information and resolve claims in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Appeals and Complaints: Identify and address appeals and complaints in a timely and effective manner, escalating issues as necessary to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Training and Development: Provide support and guidance to colleagues to improve their skills and knowledge, contributing to the development of the claims team.
  • Contested Claims: Manage claims of a sensitive or contentious nature, working closely with managers, GFC, and legal services to ensure effective resolution.
Requirements:
  • Experience: A minimum of [insert experience] years of experience in handling income protection claims, with a strong understanding of compliance regulations and medical knowledge.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathize with customers and handle difficult situations.
