Position Overview
Barts Health NHS Trust is seeking a dedicated individual for the role of Clinical Fellow in Interventional Radiology.
This is a full-time position primarily based within our advanced interventional radiology facilities, which are among the largest in the UK and are poised for significant growth.
The interventional radiology team comprises 9 consultant radiologists, 8 specialized radiographers, and a robust nursing staff, supported by healthcare assistants. Our state-of-the-art facilities include five dedicated interventional radiology rooms and two hybrid operating rooms.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will engage in a variety of interventional radiology tasks across the Trust.
Our network collaborates with 14 vascular surgeons, and the Trust serves as a key referral center for various surgical specialties.
In addition to interventional duties, the role includes opportunities in general diagnostic radiology, enhancing the overall training experience.
We expect candidates to adhere to our standards of medical excellence and to continuously update their professional knowledge and skills.
On-call responsibilities for acute interventional cases will be required, with a frequency of 1 in 6, under the supervision of experienced consultants.

Essential Qualifications
- FRCR
- Full GMC registration
Experience Requirements
- Eligibility for specialist registration in Radiology
- Experience as a Radiology SpR in an accredited training position or equivalent
- Prior clinical fellowship experience is advantageous
- Demonstrated commitment to interventional radiology with relevant experience
- Evidence of ongoing professional development and training
- Experience in conducting audits
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong clinical knowledge and awareness of limitations
- Understanding of evidence-based practice and healthcare issues
- Ability to prioritize clinical needs and organize effectively
- Involvement in audits with demonstrable outcomes
- Experience in teaching and mentoring
- Research experience and familiarity with clinical guidelines
