Position Overview

Barts Health NHS Trust is seeking a dedicated individual for the role of Clinical Fellow in Interventional Radiology. This full-time position will primarily be based within our advanced interventional radiology facilities.

The successful candidate will become part of a vibrant and progressive team within an organization that boasts one of the largest interventional radiology suites in the UK, with exciting plans for future development.

Key Responsibilities

The Clinical Fellow will engage in a variety of interventional radiology tasks across the Barts Health NHS Trust network. The role includes collaboration with a comprehensive East London Vascular Network, comprising numerous vascular surgeons. Our Trust is recognized as a leading national and regional referral center for a range of surgical specialties.

In addition to interventional duties, the position will involve participation in general diagnostic radiology sessions, enhancing the fellow's overall training experience. The Barts Radiology training program supports a diverse group of clinical radiology trainees across the network.

Adherence to the Trust's standards for Maintaining Medical Excellence is essential, as is a commitment to ongoing professional development and skill enhancement.

On-call responsibilities for acute interventional cases will be part of the role, with a frequency of 1 in 6, under the supervision of consultant radiologists.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • FRCR and full GMC registration.
  • Eligibility for the specialist register in Radiology.
  • Experience as a Radiology SpR in an approved training post or equivalent.
  • A demonstrated commitment to interventional radiology, with relevant experience.
  • Evidence of continuous medical education and professional development.
  • Experience in audit projects.

Knowledge and Skills

Essential criteria include:

  • Strong clinical knowledge and awareness of limitations.
  • Understanding of evidence-based practice and healthcare issues.
  • Ability to prioritize clinical needs and effectively manage work.
  • Experience in teaching and a willingness to contribute to educational initiatives.
