We are expanding our Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) team and are seeking a dedicated Safety, Health & Environment Advisor to support our operations across various sites in Somerset.

As a Safety, Health & Environment Advisor, your primary responsibility will be to assist Vistry Group in the meticulous planning, execution, and evaluation of diverse projects within the construction and maintenance sectors, ensuring adherence to Vistry Group's SHE Policies, Standards, and applicable legislation.

What We Expect From You:

  • Alignment with our core values: Integrity, Caring, and Quality
  • NEBOSH Construction or equivalent diploma is essential
  • Previous experience in the construction sector is advantageous
  • Background in a Safety Advisor role within Residential Construction or Tier 1 Contracting is preferred
  • Membership in a Professional Body, with aspirations for Chartered status
  • Experience in housebuilding is a plus

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define Vistry Group's roles and responsibilities concerning CDM Regulations for each project, collaborating with the Business Manager and Site Manager to ensure compliance.
  • Facilitate the application of policies and procedures within business units to mitigate risks and foster a positive SHE culture.
  • Actively promote Vistry Group's behavioral approach through site visits and management meetings.
  • Support the implementation of the Group's ActivSHEQ database by promoting the system at the site level and ensuring timely data input.
  • Assist SHE line management in enforcing all Group SHE Standards and report any site-related issues affecting SHE compliance.
  • Provide advisory support during regular SHE Management Reviews to enhance performance.
  • Aid in the planning, review, and achievement of SHE objectives.
  • Monitor and assess performance against the Group and Divisional Sustainability Route Maps.
  • Maintain a proactive approach to promoting SHE across the Group.
  • Represent Vistry Group positively in communications with external professionals and industry associations.
  • Offer specialized support for pre-qualification and tender documentation.
  • Assist site management in developing construction SHE Plans prior to project initiation and review them regularly.
  • Conduct formal SHE reviews on all sites monthly to ensure compliance with Vistry Group SHE Policies and Standards.
