The Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and strategic Bid Manager to join our team, reporting to a Senior Bid Manager. You will oversee the full bid lifecycle, from following the tendering process to contributing to the development and implementation of winning bid strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and create high-quality quotations and bids, ranging from £5k to £10m, ensuring they meet all customer requirements, internal approvals, and deadlines.
  • Take full ownership of bid preparation, review, and coordination, identifying potential issues and risks early.
  • Allocate and coordinate responsibilities across technical, commercial, and financial considerations.
  • Liaise with internal and external parties, partners, and subcontractors.
  • Organize and chair review meetings, prepare materials, and deliver presentations up to board level.
  • Lead the bid team (UK and international) in meeting requirements and timescales.
  • Collate costs and calculate pricing, demonstrating how our offers deliver innovation, social value, carbon reduction, and waste reduction.
  • Edit and coordinate compelling tender documentation for timely customer submission.
  • Ensure consistency and quality in tender documentation, mitigating company risks.
  • Write and/or edit responses to bid quality questions, maximizing quality scoring.
  • Manage internal sign-off and governance processes, reporting to HQ board level as needed.
  • Handle post-tender activities, including clarifications, negotiations, lessons learned, order booking, and project handover.
  • Support the Head of Tendering in process improvements and adherence to best practices.
  • Contribute to report and forecast provision and accurate bid budget management.
  • Transfer knowledge from the Bid team to the Delivery team at handover.
  • Collaborate supportively with other Tendering Managers and the Yunex Sales Team, both within and outside the UK.
  • Occasional travel within the UK and internationally.

About You:

  • Experienced in bid management, with a track record of producing high-quality, successful bids.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and coordinate teams effectively.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in identifying and mitigating risks in bid submissions.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Flexible and able to travel as required.
