About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Bid Management Specialist to join our team at Bond Williams Limited. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for leading the entire bidding process from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Bidding Process: Manage the entire bidding process, from initial tendering to final contract award.
  • Identify Business Opportunities: Identify and secure new business opportunities in the construction industry.
  • Risk Assessment: Review tender documents and assess potential risks to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Develop Winning Strategies: Develop and implement winning bid strategies to secure new business.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with our Operations team to formulate build strategies and ensure successful project delivery.
  • Manage Subcontractors: Manage subcontractor enquiries and coordinate with suppliers to ensure optimal results.
  • Plan and Execute: Plan and execute tenders, ensuring timely submission and successful project delivery.
  • Client Engagement: Promote and sell bids to clients, and attend client meetings to build strong relationships.
  • Team Leadership: Manage estimators and prepare accurate cost sheets to support bid submissions.
  • Sales and Marketing: Participate in sales activities and promote our sales policies to drive business growth.
  • Compliance: Ensure all secured orders meet our commercial principles and comply with industry regulations.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments to ensure our business remains competitive.

Requirements:

  • Industry Expertise: In-depth knowledge of the construction industry and building products.
  • Technical Skills: Strong IT skills, especially in Excel and Word, and experience with software systems (Tekla, AutoCad, Revit, Blue Beam, Sharepoint).
  • Business Acumen: Proven ability to produce compelling tenders and bids, and a successful track record in technical sales and securing work.
  • Education and Certifications: Degree in construction/engineering (BSc or equivalent), and appropriate CSCS card.
