Role Overview:

As a Relief Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the operations of our country houses, which serve as retreats for guests on guided or self-guided tours. This position offers a unique opportunity to manage across all 16 of our Country Houses in the UK, filling in for annual leave, sickness, and vacancies. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Excellence in Customer Service: Ensure the highest standards of customer service are maintained at all times.
  • Culinary Oversight: Manage the culinary team to guarantee exceptional food quality while adhering to budgetary constraints.
  • Leadership in Front of House: Direct the front of house staff, ensuring all guest areas and accommodations are impeccably maintained.
  • Property Maintenance and Aesthetics: Work alongside the maintenance team to monitor and address any property repairs and aesthetic improvements.
  • Centralised Operational Support: Utilize support from central functions for recruitment, occupancy management, Health & Safety compliance, purchasing, stock management, and reporting.

Candidate Profile:

We are seeking individuals with the following essential qualifications:

  • A strong commercial background in the Tourism or Hospitality sector, particularly from roles such as Hotel Managers, Country House Managers, or Hospitality Managers, demonstrating a successful management history.
  • Flexibility to adapt to varying work hours, especially during evenings and weekends.
