Lead Analyst, Know Your Customer

Circle is seeking a highly skilled Lead Analyst, Know Your Customer (KYC) to join its Compliance Operations team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for conducting complex reviews and projects in Circle's KYC team, operating at the intersection of innovative products and customers.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct In-Depth Customer Investigations: Conduct detailed assessments of complex customers for risk of money laundering, financial crimes, and terrorist financing through thorough review and enhanced due diligence, including review of negative news and nature of business.
- Collaborate with Internal Stakeholders: Partner with key internal stakeholders, including business teams and other control functions, to monitor client relationships on an ongoing basis and ensure compliance with regulatory expectations.
- Recommend Risk-Based Business Actions: Recommend appropriate risk-based business actions to be taken to onboard customers and/or ongoing monitoring.
- Identify Risk Appetite: Identify the risk appetite of customers and make appropriate decisions regarding onboarding/rejecting the customer.
- Provide Recommendations to Management: Recommend course of action to management based on an analysis of the findings.
- Ensure High-Quality Documentation: Ensure the highest standards of documentation and quality in the execution of onboarding and periodic review processes.
- Stay Up-to-Date with Regulatory Developments: Closely follow regulatory, compliance, and enforcement developments in the cryptocurrency industry to ensure processes are kept up to date.
- 7+ Years of Relevant Experience: 7+ years of relevant experience in AML and KYC reviews for corporates, with 2 years in crypto, preferably in onboardings requiring specialized due diligence.
- Passion for Digital Currency: A passion for harnessing the power of digital currency and blockchain technology and services built on top of it. Deep understanding of blockchain technology.
- Investigative Capabilities: First-class investigative capabilities and problem-solving skills, able to bring structure to ambiguous problems, generate hypotheses, coordinate research and analysis, fluently manipulate data, conduct analysis, and synthesize insight.
- Experience in Remote Work Environment: Experience and comfort working in an ever-changing industry and the flexibility to quickly react to changing demands. Ability to work effectively in a fully remote environment with teams spanning multiple time zones.
