Position Overview

Lead Cybersecurity Analyst

Remote – Occasional Travel Required

Salary: Up to £65,000

VIQU IT Recruitment is on the lookout for a Lead Cybersecurity Analyst to join a non-profit entity dedicated to enhancing the London Insurance Market.

This role involves becoming a vital part of a compact security team, engaging in diverse initiatives to bolster security operations, assurance, risk management, governance, and compliance.

Key Duties of the Lead Cybersecurity Analyst:

  • Monitor and evaluate security incidents to identify and mitigate threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Work collaboratively with various departments to establish effective security measures and risk management protocols.
  • Oversee external penetration testing to uncover vulnerabilities in systems, services, and applications.
  • Conduct assessments of third-party security practices.
  • Assist in the formulation and enforcement of security policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Support compliance initiatives, including ISO 27001 certification and other relevant frameworks.
  • Engage in incident response and contribute to investigations of security incidents.
  • Deliver security awareness training to personnel and foster a culture of security mindfulness.
  • Remain informed about industry developments, emerging threats, and best practices.

Essential Qualifications for the Lead Cybersecurity Analyst:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in roles such as Cybersecurity Analyst, Risk Management, or related fields.
  • Extensive technical expertise in cloud security technologies, including but not limited to Microsoft Defender, Azure Sentinel, and Endpoint.
  • Comprehensive understanding of general infrastructure, particularly with Windows and Microsoft environments.
  • Broad exposure to various security methodologies, ensuring a well-rounded grasp of the discipline.
  • Proficient in ISO 27001, NIST, and other relevant security standards.
  • Demonstrated experience managing Microsoft Entra ID & M365, including Intune, Purview, and Microsoft Defender.
  • Skilled in conducting security evaluations and ongoing monitoring to maintain a strong security posture.
  • Prior experience with ISO 27001, NIST, and other recognized security frameworks is advantageous.
  • Possession of relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, CEH, or similar is highly desirable.
  • Experience in the financial services sector is preferred.
