About the Role

The Lead Cybersecurity Specialist will support the Manager to lead on all aspects of Cybersecurity within Smart DCC. The Lead Cybersecurity Specialist is working with a team of Cybersecurity Specialists, primarily assigned to programme delivery, the Lead role will provide guidance to the team on process, policy and outputs. The Lead Cybersecurity Specialist requires an in-depth knowledge of Cybersecurity and its particular applicability to Smart Metering. The Lead Cybersecurity Specialist will be working with project teams, including architects, analysts, technical designers and business users to ensure that projects are delivered securely, protecting customer, company and employee data and ensuring compliance with the Information Security policies and standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deputise for the Cybersecurity Manager where required
  • Training and Mentoring of junior team members in DCC's Cybersecurity methodology & requirements
  • Senior representation of Cybersecurity in forums and project/programme activities, ensuring that Cybersecurity requirements are captured, delivered and tested
  • Supporting the Cybersecurity Manager in providing resource estimates for early stage Changes as part of the Change Delivery process
  • Guiding team members to work effectively with the wider Cybersecurity function, including Security Architects, Cyber Operations and Data Protection colleagues – and relaying those requirements to the delivery teams
  • Creating & updating of templates and providing recommendation for improvements to security-specific artefacts as part of Change Delivery Management.
  • Contribute and to and review security elements in supplier contracts

Requirements

  • ISO 27001 Lead Auditor / Lead Implementor certification required for this role
  • CISSP, CISM, CISA would be very useful
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, strong written and verbal communication skills – capable of writing reports and presenting to groups
  • Can plan, prioritise and manage own workload, and those of the team.
  • Capable of converting policy statement into reference security designs
  • Ability to engage openly with external stakeholders and increase the profile of the security team
