Role Overview

The Azure Engineer is tasked with enhancing and securing our cloud infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and cost-effectiveness. Utilizing your expertise in Microsoft Azure, you will work to improve system reliability, implement security best practices, and manage resources efficiently. Your responsibilities will include driving initiatives for continuous improvement and overseeing strategies for cost management.

Furthermore, you will ensure the smooth integration of new technologies, support DevOps methodologies to enhance deployment processes, and maintain thorough documentation. You will also be instrumental in monitoring system performance, conducting performance tuning, and supporting business continuity efforts.

Key Responsibilities:


• Identify and implement automation opportunities, performance improvements, and infrastructure enhancements to adapt to changing business requirements.


• Ensure the availability and reliability of cloud services by developing disaster recovery plans, conducting performance evaluations, and implementing redundancy and failover strategies.


• Enforce security and compliance best practices within the Azure environment, perform regular security assessments, ensure adherence to industry standards, and respond swiftly to security incidents.


• Monitor and analyze cloud expenditures, recommend and implement cost-saving strategies, and effectively utilize cost management tools.


• Collaborate closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality of cloud services.


• Maintain detailed documentation of cloud infrastructure, enhancements, best practices, and performance metrics. Prepare regular reports on system performance, security status, and cost management.


• Provide training and guidance to team members and other departments on Azure best practices and optimizations.


• Lead and engage in incident response activities, ensuring minimal downtime and rapid resolution of issues.


• Participate in architecture design discussions to align system capabilities with business objectives.

Oversee the management of certificates and secrets within the Azure environment, ensuring timely rotation and compliance with security protocols. Implement automated processes for certificate and secret renewal to maintain system integrity and security.

Qualifications:


• Proven experience as an Azure Engineer or in a similar capacity with a comprehensive understanding of Azure services, architecture, and best practices.


• Strong knowledge of cloud security principles, including identity management, encryption, and compliance standards.


• Experience with Azure cost management and budgeting tools, as well as implementing cost-saving measures.


• Proficiency in automation tools and scripting languages such as PowerShell, ARM templates, or Terraform.


• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.


• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.


• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.


• Relevant Azure certifications are highly desirable.


• A commitment to continuous learning and staying current with the latest Azure technologies and industry trends.
