Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Site Reliability Engineer to join our team at PayPoint plc. As a key member of our engineering organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and scalability of our payment systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product engineering teams to improve the observability of their applications and ensure seamless payment experiences for our customers.
  • Create and maintain standards and ways of working that promote the reliability of our platform, including the development of tooling and automation to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Provide primary on-call support for applications where appropriate and work with product teams to balance new feature delivery with well-defined service level objectives (SLOs).
  • Proactively monitor production systems to identify and remediate potential performance problems before they materialize.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend and implement innovative solutions that provide a competitive edge.

Requirements

  • Software development skills in one or more high-level languages, preferably C#/.NET.
  • Experience in a similar role at a company with a distributed cloud architecture.
  • Experience with containerization and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of good SRE and platform engineering practices.
  • Ability to make pragmatic, risk-based decisions that balance commercial objectives with non-functional requirements.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
