About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Security Engineer to join our Vulnerability Management and Pentesting team at Tesco Technology. This is an exciting opportunity for a security-focused engineer to contribute to the availability and reliability of our critical security tooling while automating operational burden.

The role will involve being hands-on with a focus on providing actionable insight into the security posture of our systems and platforms, prioritizing remediation activities for our engineering colleagues and system owners. As a senior position, you will have the freedom to leverage your knowledge and real-world experience to work with other teams and drive innovation across our prevention, detection, and response capabilities.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Develop and implement detection, data correlation, and response capabilities in the Vulnerability Management space, contributing to the development of standards and patterns for our engineering community.
  • Create tooling and reporting to manage our external attack surface, ensuring the security and integrity of our systems.
  • Build a range of capabilities to inform stakeholders on the status and progress of Vulnerability Management remediation efforts across the company.
  • Automate integrations between platforms and tooling, improving efficiency and reducing operational burden.
  • Contribute to our internal detection engineering program, using observations from security incidents and reporting on relevant security threats.
  • Collaborate with analysts to upskill them in Vulnerability Management, identifying patterns and issues that can be fixed centrally.
  • Perform POC assessments from our active Bug Bounty Program, ensuring the security and integrity of our systems.

**Requirements:**

  • 5+ years of experience working in the IT Security Industry.
  • Experience with responding to security incidents in large-scale corporate environments.
  • A good understanding of Bug Bounty programs.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language, such as Python, Power Shell, Terraform, or similar.
  • Solid understanding of networking, web services, and application testing.
  • Experience with Vulnerability Scanning tools, such as Qualys and Tenable.
  • Keen to cultivate a culture of collaboration, innovation, and bringing industry standards to everything we do.
  • Proactive and able to operate independently, comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Resilient, taking ownership of seeing issues through to resolution while looking after yourself to be at your best.
  • Passionate about technology and able to share that passion with others.
