Role Overview
The Senior Infrastructure Solutions Architect plays a crucial role in shaping and sustaining the strategic roadmaps for our Infrastructure offerings. This position involves extensive collaboration with application and engineering teams, stakeholders, customers, and vendors to assess innovative products and methodologies, leading to the architecture and design of both new and existing Infrastructure solutions for the broader Tesco Technology teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain architectural roadmaps, including technology lifecycle management, for Infrastructure.
- Design and architect new infrastructure solutions that fulfill business needs while integrating automation and ensuring security is inherently designed.
- Engage with various teams across Tesco Technology to comprehend their requirements and ensure alignment of infrastructure products.
- Contribute to the development of Infrastructure as a Product.
Design & Operations
- Research and identify trends and emerging technologies in Infrastructure that could significantly enhance Tesco's business, application, or Infrastructure teams.
- Maintain the roadmap and product lifecycle for Infrastructure, advising on new technology products to ensure capacity and scalability as demand evolves.
- Participate in the Architecture forum to ensure that business projects adhere to best practices in infrastructure.
- Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to create suitable infrastructure solutions, understanding modern application development techniques and their implications.
- Lead design discussions and present confidently to diverse audiences.
- Utilize your understanding of costs, service requirements, technology, and personnel to recommend improvements or decommissioning of existing solutions.
- Ensure that security and automation are integral to the design process.
- Work alongside Principal System Engineers and Enterprise Architects to uphold standards and guidance for design and architecture across Technology.
- Possess a comprehensive technical understanding of infrastructure products and their integration within the broader technology landscape.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure their architectural roadmaps support Tesco systems.
- Ensure infrastructure teams produce and maintain high-quality HLD/LLD and standard documentation.
- Stay updated with the latest industry technologies and relevant supplier solutions.

- Facilitate the transformation of Tesco Technology's Infrastructure to modern platforms consumable through APIs or portals.
- Contribute to the development of Infrastructure as a Product.
- Support business cases by evaluating suitable products for their technological and commercial impact on Tesco.
