Role Overview
In a bid to revolutionize our approach to Innovation, DS Smith is embracing Agile methodologies, fostering new capabilities and behaviors within our organization. Agile squads have been established within the Packaging Division to enhance collaboration and expedite decision-making processes, enabling the rapid development and market introduction of strategic innovation products.
As an integral member of the Innovation team, your primary focus will be to elevate the performance of individuals and squads, driving the creation of innovative products that cater to our customers' evolving needs, while simultaneously enhancing growth and profitability for DS Smith.
Your responsibilities will encompass:
- Driving the achievement of Strategic Innovation objectives through enhanced performance of innovation squads involved in New Product Development and Commercialization.
- Refining and implementing Agile methodologies to accelerate product progression through the innovation lifecycle, including collective decision-making and rapid work cycles.
- Cultivating proactive behaviors and a problem-solving mindset to facilitate necessary changes and tackle challenges effectively.
- Standardizing operational approaches and methodologies within the Strategic Innovation Squad Community across divisions and regions.
- Establishing performance tracking metrics for squads, promoting self-governance and empowerment to enhance overall team performance.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A profound understanding of Agile and Lean methodologies, including their application in New Product Development and Manufacturing settings.
- Proven experience in enhancing team performance through hands-on change management strategies, including coaching and role modeling.
- The ability to foster a collaborative culture across project management and program teams.
- Exceptional leadership skills and a strong team-oriented mindset.
- Quick analytical thinking and conflict resolution capabilities.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills.
- Adaptability to dynamic environments.
