Role Overview

In an effort to revolutionize our approach to innovation, DS Smith is implementing Agile methodologies and fostering new capabilities within our organization. Agile squads have been established within the Packaging Division to enhance collaboration and expedite decision-making processes, enabling us to develop and launch strategic innovation products more swiftly.

This position is a vital component of the Innovation team, focusing on enhancing the performance of individuals and squads to elevate our innovative product offerings in alignment with customer needs, ultimately driving growth and profitability for DS Smith.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the achievement of Strategic Innovation objectives by enhancing the performance of innovation squads engaged in New Product Development and Commercialization.
  • Refine and implement Agile methodologies to accelerate product progression through the innovation lifecycle, emphasizing collective decision-making and efficient work cycles.
  • Cultivate proactive behaviors and a problem-solving mindset to facilitate necessary changes and overcome challenges.
  • Standardize operational approaches and workflows within the Strategic Innovation Squad Community across divisions and regions.
  • Establish performance tracking metrics for squads, promoting self-governance and empowerment to enhance overall team performance.

Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of Agile and Lean methodologies, including their application in New Product Development and Manufacturing contexts.
  • Proven experience in enhancing team performance through hands-on change management techniques, including coaching and role modeling.
  • Ability to foster a collaborative environment across portfolio management, program, and project teams.
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on teamwork.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to think quickly and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and mentoring abilities.
