We Recruit Group Ltd is seeking to expand its team by hiring a Lead CDM Advisor/Principal Designer. This esteemed multi-disciplinary consultancy is recognized for its commitment to providing precise construction guidance within the built environment.

The firm has a strong history of fostering and developing talent, making this an excellent opportunity for a seasoned CDM Advisor/Principal Designer looking to advance their career. As the successful candidate, you will manage a diverse portfolio of clients, including financial institutions, developers, and high-profile corporations. Your role will encompass a variety of projects across both public and private sectors, focusing on new builds, refurbishments, high-rise remediation, and maintenance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

As a Principal Designer, you will:

  • Fulfill the responsibilities outlined under CDM 2015, including acting as a CDM Advisor to support clients when necessary.
  • Plan, manage, and oversee pre-construction phases of projects to identify, mitigate, or control significant and foreseeable risks associated with construction, maintenance, and operational use of buildings.
  • Oversee multiple projects for key clients, particularly in the high-rise residential refurbishment and commercial sectors.
  • Participate in client meetings and conduct health and safety site inspections, delivering comprehensive reports within established timelines.
  • Provide clear, practical health and safety advice, guidance, and coaching to project teams throughout all project stages.
  • Compile, prepare, and issue Health & Safety Files to clients.
Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction sector, with a focus on CDM and health and safety issues.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of CDM 2015 and relevant legislation.
  • Proven experience in successfully executing the roles of Principal Designer and CDM Advisor in residential refurbishment, development, and commercial projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Preferably a NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
  • Preferably an incorporated member of the Association for Project Safety (IMaPs).
  • A valid UK driving license.
