We Recruit Group Ltd, a distinguished multi-disciplinary consultancy based in South East London, is seeking to expand its team by hiring a Lead CDM Advisor/Principal Designer.

This consultancy is renowned for providing precise construction guidance within the built environment. The firm has a solid history of fostering and developing talent. As the successful Lead CDM Advisor/Principal Designer, you will oversee projects throughout London and its neighboring counties. You will manage a diverse client portfolio, including financial institutions, developers, prominent corporations, and affluent individuals. Your role will encompass a variety of projects across both public and private sectors, including new constructions, refurbishments, high-rise building remediation, and maintenance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute the responsibilities of the Principal Designer as outlined under CDM 2015, including serving as a CDM Advisor to assist clients when necessary.
  • Plan, manage, monitor, and coordinate the pre-construction phases of projects to identify, mitigate, or control significant and foreseeable risks associated with construction, maintenance, and operational use of buildings.
  • Oversee multiple projects for key clients, particularly focusing on high-rise residential refurbishments, developments, and the commercial sector.
  • Participate in client meetings and conduct health and safety site inspections. Deliver comprehensive reports to clients within established timelines.
  • Provide clear, concise, and practical health and safety advice, guidance, and coaching to project teams throughout all project stages.
  • Responsible for compiling, preparing, and issuing Health & Safety Files to clients.

Candidate Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction sector, with a focus on CDM/Health and Safety matters.
  • Strong working knowledge and understanding of CDM 2015 and relevant legislation.
  • Proven experience in successfully fulfilling the Principal Designer and CDM Advisor roles within the residential refurbishment, development, and commercial sectors.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possession of a NEBOSH Construction Certificate is preferred.
  • Ideally, an incorporated member of the Association for Project Safety (IMaPs).
  • Full UK driving license.
