About the Opportunity:
FedTec is seeking a Senior Program Coordinator to oversee and deliver intricate IT projects within the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) Information Technology Division. This role involves managing multiple teams and work streams to adhere to a strict delivery timeline. The Senior Program Coordinator will be accountable for the success of the assigned projects, guiding the team through the established project management standards.

Candidate Requirements:
Candidates must hold a PMP certification from PMI or a VITA PM certification. No other certifications will be accepted.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a proactive technical project leader, collaborating with development teams and business units.
  • Facilitate communication with ITD management and staff to align work tasks and resource allocation.
  • Set clear timelines and expectations for both technical and business personnel. Work alongside vendors, consultants, and contractors to ensure project execution, including contract management.
  • Adhere to VDOT and VITA project management protocols, coordinating with their Project Management Offices.
  • Manage project budgets, plans, schedules, risks, and status updates, sharing information with team members and stakeholders as outlined in the communication strategy.
  • Document requirements and use cases, leading design workshops for assigned projects.
  • Define testing objectives, create test plans and cases, and oversee project milestones and deliverables to ensure timely and budget-compliant completion.
  • Measure and communicate progress using relevant metrics, supporting system and application training initiatives.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with clients and project teams.
  • Ability to analyze and convert requirements into technical specifications.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and implementing technology solutions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project and the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as Microsoft SharePoint.
  • Knowledge of data modeling and interface management tools.
  • Comprehensive understanding of project management practices.
  • Active Project Management Professional (PMP) or VITA certified Project Management certification.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience with both Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies.
  • Ability to program and generate custom reports using standard IT application tools.
  • A background in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Progressively responsible experience in system analysis, design, development, testing, and troubleshooting.

Preferred Qualifications:
Agile Scrum Master certification is a plus.

Work Schedule:
This position requires on-site presence four days a week, with no exceptions.
