Greenock, Inverclyde, United Kingdom NHS Scotland Full time

NHS Scotland is one of the largest healthcare providers in the UK, employing a diverse workforce of approximately 40,000 individuals across various clinical and non-clinical roles. We are dedicated to delivering comprehensive healthcare services, including acute hospital care, primary care, community health, and mental health services to a population exceeding 1.15 million.

As part of our commitment to enhancing work-life balance, we are implementing a reduction in the full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours, effective from April 2024, without any change in remuneration. This adjustment will also apply proportionately to part-time staff. Please note that certain service areas may require temporary adjustments to accommodate this new schedule.

To be eligible for this position, candidates must possess a valid NMC UK pin. Applications from newly qualified nurses or midwives will not be considered.

The role involves a Monday to Friday shift pattern, with salary calculated on a pro-rata basis for part-time hours.

An exciting opportunity exists for a Band 5 Staff Nurse within our Endoscopy Unit, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. The demand for endoscopic procedures is on the rise, creating a dynamic and often challenging work environment.

The successful candidate will receive comprehensive support for their professional growth, collaborating with a seasoned team. We seek enthusiastic and motivated individuals with a keen interest in the endoscopy field. While prior experience in this specialty is advantageous, all applications will be considered.

As a member of the multidisciplinary team, the post holder will be responsible for the pre-assessment and care of patients undergoing day case and inpatient endoscopy procedures. This role includes patient assessment and the delivery of exceptional nursing care until discharge. You will be guided in acquiring new skills to assist both Medical and Nurse Endoscopists within the procedure rooms.

Flexibility is essential, as the service currently operates a five-day week. Additionally, candidates may be required to engage in multi-site work within NHS Scotland to meet service demands.

NHS Scotland values diversity and encourages applications from all community sectors. We are committed to fostering an inclusive culture and take pride in our diverse workforce.

By signing the Armed Forces Covenant, we affirm our dedication to being a Forces Friendly Employer, recognizing military skills and experience during the recruitment process.
