Health and Care Research Wales serves as a vital research framework supported by the Division of Research & Development, Welsh Government. The primary aim of Health and Care Research Wales is to achieve global recognition for its outstanding health and social care research, positively influencing the health, wellbeing, and prosperity of the population in Wales. Established in 2015, a Support and Delivery infrastructure was created to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and international competitiveness in the research landscape of Wales. This framework includes a Support Centre that offers centralized functions and services at a national level, alongside local R&D operations through NHS R&D Departments in various organizations.

The NHS R&D Departments, under the leadership of a R&D Director, provide essential local services for research support and facilitate the sponsorship and hosting of studies within each UHB. A key component of this service is the NHS research delivery team, which comprises Research Nurses, Clinical Studies Officers, Research Officers, and Administrators, all employed by NHS organizations to ensure the successful execution of high-quality health and social care studies. The Clinical Research Nurse will play an integral role within these NHS research delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

An exciting opportunity exists within Cardiff and Vale University R&D for a Research Nurse to join the Medicine research delivery team.

We are looking to recruit a band 5 Registered Nurse who possesses either research and/or clinical experience and has a keen interest in research. The successful candidate will be involved in assessing and managing care pathways for patients engaged in clinical trials. Responsibilities will include the recruitment, education, and monitoring of trial participants, as well as the collection and documentation of precise data.

The successful candidate will be stationed at a prominent healthcare facility and will be tasked with supporting a diverse portfolio of studies.

Proficiency in Welsh is preferred for this role. Applications from both Welsh and English speakers are encouraged.
