About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Research Nurse Manager to join our dynamic team at Velindre University NHS Trust. As a key member of our Research and Development service, you will play a vital role in championing our growing nursing and interdisciplinary research portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage research teams to deliver high-quality research projects, including early phase/advanced therapy trials and phase III studies.
  • Develop and implement the Trust's Nursing Strategy to deliver the best care to our patients and service users.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of our research portfolio, including Velindre Futures for R&D and Transforming Cancer Services.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to research staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality research.
  • Contribute to the development of research policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a relevant field, with a strong background in nursing and research.
  • Significant management experience in an NHS senior role, including staff management and research management.
  • Expertise in innovating, designing, and delivering change management and continuous improvement services.
  • Proven leadership experience, including experience of leadership in organisational change.
  • Strong understanding of Research Governance and the legislative framework.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multi-professional organisational team.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • MSc with an empirical dissertation.
  • Management qualification or significant relevant experience.
  • Experience of conducting own research and working in an academic setting.
  • Understanding of the national cancer research landscape and key research organisations.
