Job Summary

Shropshire Doctors Co-operative Limited 'Shropdoc' is seeking a skilled and experienced Clinical Practitioner to join our team in providing high-quality out of hours healthcare services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering autonomous practice and making every contact count, providing safe, holistic, and effective compassionate care provision to patients.

Main Responsibilities
  • Work effectively within your professional boundaries to provide safe and effective care to patients.
  • Use critical thinking and advanced decision-making skills to assess, diagnose, and triage patients presenting with a range of illnesses.
  • Identify cases that are appropriate to stream to our other services and work with patients to determine a suitable management plan.
  • Prescribe necessary medications as part of a robust treatment plan, using good antibiotic stewardship and sick day rules.
  • Liaise with other community-based healthcare practitioners, such as GPs, Paramedics, and Nurses, about patient management, admission avoidance, and admission into secondary care.
Requirements
  • Experience in primary or urgent/emergency healthcare settings.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a larger team.
  • Willingness to contribute to the continuous improvement, development, and delivery of a high-quality and professional out of hours service.
