Key Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of this position include:
- Providing guidance and assistance to adoptive families
- Evaluating the support requirements of adoptive families
- Engaging with children and families facing complex challenges
- Delivering therapeutic support to families, either directly or through funding applications
Required Qualifications
Candidates must possess:
- A recognized Social Work qualification and current registration
- Experience in social work, particularly with children and families
- Insight into the effects of early life trauma and its long-term implications
- Strong analytical skills for assessing complex information
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and manage individual cases
- Initiative and independence in work
- Experience in managing a caseload and meeting deadlines

Responsibilities Overview

- Assessing potential adopters and presenting findings
- Supporting adopters throughout the approval process
- Developing and implementing support plans for families
- Coordinating multi-agency meetings as necessary
- Ensuring timely completion of all required procedures
- Collaborating with social workers to identify suitable matches for children
- Contributing to the development of adoption support services
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation
Experience Requirements
Essential
- Professional Social Work qualification
- Registration with the relevant authority
- Knowledge of child protection legislation and practices
- Understanding of the needs of children in care
- Familiarity with adoption regulations and standards
- Experience in direct work with children and families
- Strong report writing and organizational skills
- Effective communication abilities
