About the Role

The Wiltshire Council is seeking a highly skilled Adoption Social Worker to join our team. As a key member of our adoption services, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and support to adoptive families, assessing their support needs, and working with children and families with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice and support to adoptive families, including assessing their support needs and developing personalized plans to meet those needs.
  • Work closely with children and families with complex needs, providing therapeutic support and connecting them with relevant resources and services.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including social workers, therapists, and other professionals, to ensure seamless service delivery and optimal outcomes for children and families.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with adoptive families, providing regular check-ins, support, and guidance to ensure their needs are met and their adoption journey is successful.

Requirements

  • Professional Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
  • Proven experience working with children and families, particularly those with complex needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and develop effective solutions.
