Key ResponsibilitiesIn this position, you will work closely with on-site Adoption Coordinators to effectively implement the Blue Cross strategy, concentrating on streamlined horse adoption services, including direct home placements. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the post-adoption procedures in your area, ensuring seamless transitions of ownership following successful loan periods to facilitate horse rehoming and optimize capacity for new cases. Daily tasks will involve conducting comprehensive home assessments and visits—both in-person and virtually—to maintain welfare standards and promptly address any concerns. Collaborating with the Rehabilitation, Trainer, and Behaviour Advisor (RTBA), you will manage challenging equine behaviours to support successful placements. You will also spearhead home direct rehoming initiatives, making informed decisions to match horses with appropriate owners based on your expertise, while providing ongoing support post-adoption. Volunteer ManagementTo amplify our impact, you will recruit and oversee a network of volunteers, including a regional volunteer manager, for home direct assessments and checks. This will entail coordinating visits and appointments, as well as building partnerships with external charities that align with our home direct efforts. Client ExperienceDelivering exceptional client experiences is crucial, ensuring that every interaction encompasses all necessary information for successful horse matching and adoption into loving homes. This role is home-based with extensive daily travel, requiring considerable flexibility in managing your work schedule, including some weekend and evening commitments. You will be responsible for using your own vehicle for work-related duties, with reimbursement for business mileage as applicable. Candidate ProfileYou are an effective communicator with a background in client-facing roles within equine environments. Your understanding of horse welfare and riding will contribute to successful adoptions. You possess the ability to quickly assimilate and document information while engaging with clients and stakeholders. Essential Skills and Experience
  • Proven understanding and experience in matching horses with suitable homes.
  • Full driving licence with access to a personal vehicle.
  • Minimum BHS Stage 4 or equivalent qualifications or experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and practical experience in the care and management of various horses and their environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in assessing horses, riders, and their surroundings.
  • Experience in evaluating riders and analyzing equine behaviour.
  • Solid understanding of horse behaviour and training principles.
  • Excellent communication skills with a track record of building rapport with clients.
  • Experience working with the public, adept at handling diverse situations.
  • Significant experience in delivering high-quality customer service in a dynamic and often emotional setting.
  • Proficient IT skills and familiarity with various software applications.
