We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Social Worker to join our Adoption Team as a Recruitment and Assessment Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dedicated team of professionals who are passionate about providing high-quality adoption services to children and families.
Key Responsibilities- Recruit, prepare, and assess prospective adopters to ensure they are suitable for adoption.
- Link and match approved adopters with children in need of a permanent family.
- Provide ongoing support to adopters throughout the adoption process, including post-adoption support.
- Assess and support Early Permanence carers to ensure the best possible outcomes for children.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of effective adoption services, in accordance with Adoption Standards and Regulations.
- A Social Work Qualification (degree or equivalent) and current registration with Social Work England.
- Experience of working as a Social Worker or having had a student social work placement with children and families.
- An understanding of early life experiences, such as trauma or abuse, and their impact on children and young people.
- The ability to analyze complex information, make recommendations, and informed decisions.
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, sharing knowledge and managing cases.
- The ability to use your own initiative and work independently.
- Experience of managing your own caseload and working to deadlines.
We are a Regional Adoption Agency and registered Voluntary Adoption Agency, commissioned by Bath & North East Somerset Council. We provide a range of adoption services, including recruitment and assessment, family finding, post-adoption support, and services to birth families and adopted adults.
