We are seeking assistance for our Dermatology Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist team. Your role will involve ensuring that all administrative duties are performed accurately and within designated timelines.

You will deliver extensive administrative support to the Dermatology Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist team, facilitating the effective execution of the Dermatology Cancer pathway.

A background in administration is essential, along with the ability to use your initiative and work independently when necessary. Strong communication skills are crucial for interacting with all levels of management and staff, handling sensitive information with confidentiality, and demonstrating a high degree of tact and diplomacy at all times.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage referrals for patients needing investigations for suspected Upper GI & Colorectal cancer.
  • Organize and coordinate necessary investigations and appointments as directed by the Dermatology Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist team.
  • Collaborate with the cancer referral coordinator to initiate urgent and two-week wait outpatient appointments.
  • Work alongside a multi-professional team to deliver a professional service that meets the needs of patients with Dermatology cancer.
  • Ensure a high-quality service for patients suspected of and diagnosed with Dermatology cancer throughout all stages of the cancer pathway.
  • Communicate effectively, sensitively, and appropriately with service users, relatives, caregivers, colleagues within the multi-disciplinary team, and external agencies, both verbally and in written form, including managing challenging and sensitive conversations.

Qualifications

Essential

  • GCSE qualifications in Maths and English.

Desirable

  • IT administrative qualification such as RSA/OCR or equivalent experience.

Experience

  • Previous administrative experience.

  • Experience working with the general public.
  • Previous experience in the NHS.

Skills and Abilities
