Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, United Kingdom Morson Talent Full time

Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum + benefits / Daily contract rate negotiable

Location: Office based with flexibility for remote working

About the Company:

Morson Talent is renowned for its expertise in global vehicle maintenance and training solutions, providing exceptional support for vehicle upkeep and specialized driver education.

With a solid reputation built on delivering high-quality and professional services, our team comprises instructors and vehicle mechanics with extensive experience, including backgrounds in military operations.

Position Overview:

As the Spares and Support Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective delivery of support, spare parts, and necessary documentation for current and future projects involving specialist, tactical, and high-mobility vehicles. You will collaborate closely with the Project Manager and Commercial Manager to define, manage, and negotiate requirements.

The generation and oversight of publication documentation (AESPs) will be a key responsibility, with the expectation that most document creation will be performed by a third-party supplier under your coordination.

This position encompasses various aspects typically associated with Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), with a primary focus on spare parts. You will ensure that quality standards are upheld through subcontract suppliers for publications and related deliverables, working in accordance with the contract scope.

Initially, your focus will be on finalizing the delivery of tasks for an ongoing contract while also supporting requirements management for various future contract tasks related to both current and previously delivered platforms. Your leadership will guide the project towards the successful delivery of spare parts, while also identifying scope changes and ensuring supplier deliveries align with contract expectations.

Effective communication with stakeholders will be essential to meet resource requirements and facilitate early risk mitigation. This role also requires interaction with production and operations management, as well as supplier liaison to ensure timely deliveries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all spare parts-related tasks, including logistics support and integration.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of the Integrated Logistics Support Plan (ILSP).
  • Plan, control, and implement measures to support spare parts deliverables.
  • Assist the Project Manager in managing requirements and identifying any changes.
  • Maintain a schedule of tasks and milestones while coordinating logistics concerns.
  • Review project designs and documentation to ensure all spare parts considerations are addressed.
  • Identify, analyze, and anticipate risks associated with work packages and establish mitigation strategies.
  • Evaluate spare parts support requirements to ensure proposals meet support needs.
  • Ensure all related activities are executed in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrate strong skills in interpreting, producing, and tracking technical documentation.

Key Attributes:

Essential:

  • Experience in supplier and supply chain management.
  • Experience in writing or reviewing technical publications.
  • Working knowledge of requirements definitions and quality assurance processes.
  • Experience in project delivery within the UK Defence sector.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strategic planning capabilities.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) principles.
  • Experience in project management or purchasing.
  • Technical or engineering background.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing or machining processes.
  • Experience with SAGE business systems for stock control.
  • Experience in delivering projects related to UK Land Systems and tactical vehicles.
