Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, United Kingdom Morson Talent Full time

Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum + benefits / Daily contract rate negotiable

Location: Office based in Leamington Spa (fully remote working can be supported)

About the Company:

Morson Talent is a leader in providing comprehensive vehicle maintenance and training solutions on a global scale. Our esteemed reputation is founded on delivering high-quality, professional services. Our team comprises experienced instructors and vehicle mechanics who operate both domestically and internationally, leveraging extensive knowledge gained from military backgrounds, including Special Forces operations.

Position Overview:

As the Spares and Support Operations Manager, you will be pivotal in ensuring the effective delivery of support, spare parts, and relevant documentation for current and future projects involving specialist, tactical, and high mobility vehicles. This role necessitates close collaboration with the Project Manager and Commercial Manager to define, manage, and negotiate requirements.

The generation and oversight of publication documentation (AESPs) will be a key responsibility, with most document creation expected to be executed by a third-party supplier under your coordination.

This position encompasses various aspects typically associated with Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), with a particular focus on spare parts. You will ensure that quality standards are upheld through subcontract suppliers for publications and related deliverables within the ILS work package, supported by administrative functions in alignment with contract specifications. Collaboration with engineering teams will be essential to guarantee accurate part numbering, Bill of Materials (BOM) generation, and integration into business management systems alongside pricing considerations in partnership with the commercial team.

Initially, your focus will be on completing the final delivery of tasks associated with an active contract while also supporting requirements management for various future contracts related to both current and previously delivered platforms. Your leadership will be crucial in guiding the project towards the successful delivery of spare parts. You will work alongside the project manager and engineering support teams to identify scope changes and ensure that supplier deliveries adhere to contract specifications.

Effective communication with stakeholders will be vital to ensure resource requirements are met and to facilitate early risk mitigation. This role also requires interaction with production and operations management, as well as supplier coordination to guarantee timely deliveries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all spare parts-related tasks, including logistics support and integration.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of the Integrated Logistics Support Plan (ILSP).
  • Plan, control, and implement measures to support spare parts deliverables.
  • Assist the Project Manager in managing requirements and identifying any changes.
  • Maintain a schedule of tasks and milestones while coordinating logistics concerns.
  • Review project designs and documentation to ensure all spare parts considerations are addressed.
  • Identify, analyze, and anticipate risks associated with work packages and establish mitigation strategies.
  • Evaluate spare parts support requirements to ensure proposals meet support needs.
  • Ensure timely execution of all related activities.
  • Demonstrate strong skills in interpreting, producing, and tracking technical documentation.

Key Attributes:

Essential:

  • Experience in supplier and supply chain management.
  • Proficiency in writing or reviewing technical publications.
  • Working knowledge of requirements definitions and quality assurance processes.
  • Experience in project delivery within the UK Defence sector.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strategic planning capabilities.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with ILS subject matter and scope.
  • Experience in project management or purchasing.
  • Technical or engineering background.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing or machining processes.
  • Experience with SAGE business systems for stock control.
  • Background in delivering UK Land Systems and tactical vehicle projects.
