Our human resources team is the backbone of The Ned, dedicated to creating an exceptional workplace in the hospitality sector, emphasizing our core principles of survival factors, advocacy, team experience, and career development.

We prioritize equipping our leaders with the necessary tools and support to thrive. Rather than micromanaging, we focus on enabling our managers to shine and providing strategic assistance to senior leadership.

Role Responsibilities

As the Director of People Operations, you will:

  • Collaborate with our executive committee and senior department heads on all human resource matters, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
  • Oversee the People Partner and People Coordinator, working in unison to enhance efficiency, promote self-service for managers and teams, manage data reporting, and digitize HR processes.
  • Partner with your Head of Talent counterpart to ensure robust talent management, succession planning, and performance evaluation processes, securing buy-in from all department heads on our high-performance culture.
  • Implement our employee engagement strategy through regular feedback mechanisms, ensuring managers are prepared to act on insights to cultivate a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Maintain and update all organizational policies and procedures, staying informed of employment law changes to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure that our employee relations processes are equitable and aligned with our progressive culture, enhancing manager confidence through coaching and engagement.
  • Leverage data insights to refine our processes and inform future workforce planning, including monthly updates to the executive committee and department heads.
  • Utilize your strong business acumen to ensure our people strategy effectively meets organizational needs, addressing areas requiring improvement.
Qualifications and Skills
  • A strong business orientation and a commitment to showcasing the HR function as a progressive and integral component of the organization.
  • A quick thinker and doer who can delve into details while drawing efficient conclusions.
  • The ability to balance operational demands with strategic objectives, managing day-to-day support while progressing towards long-term HR goals.
  • A relationship builder who can easily connect with individuals and confidently influence senior leaders in their HR-related decisions.
  • In-depth knowledge of the employee relations landscape, with a commitment to continuous improvement and preferably holding CIPD membership.
  • A cultural advocate, well-versed in the evolving landscape of HR and best practices for strategic development.
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary up to £65,000.
  • Membership at Soho House.
  • Private health insurance through Vitality.
  • Complimentary meals in our team restaurant, including monthly breakfast celebrations.
  • Engaging learning and development opportunities to advance your career.
  • Exclusive rates for stays and dining at The Ned for you and your loved ones.
  • Wellness benefits to support your health, including access to a wide range of discounted retail partners and gym memberships.
  • Your birthday off after one year of service, with additional holiday after five years.
  • Paid volunteer day.
  • Regular social events, including quarterly leadership retreats.
  • Employee assistance program providing 24/7 support.
  • Recognition and reward initiatives.

At The Ned, we celebrate diversity and are committed to fostering an inclusive workplace. We strive to be the best employer, ensuring our diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives are at the forefront of our mission.

Please inform us of any specific accommodations you may require during the interview process.

This is a five-day on-site role.
