About the Role

The University of London is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Alumni Engagement efforts. As the Head of Alumni Engagement, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to engage our global community of 500,000 alumni, fostering a positive experience and encouraging their contributions to the University's strategic and philanthropic fundraising priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive alumni engagement strategy, aligned with the University's mission and goals.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the University of London federation to support alumni relations, legacies, volunteering, and charitable giving initiatives.
  • Build and maintain relationships with alumni, stakeholders, and external partners to promote the University's brand and reputation.
  • Analyse and present data to inform decision-making and drive strategic initiatives.
  • Develop and manage budgets to support alumni engagement activities.
  • Provide guidance and support to colleagues on alumni engagement best practices and strategies.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in alumni relations, fundraising, and engagement, preferably in a higher education setting.
  • Strong understanding of the broader issues affecting the higher education sector, particularly in relation to philanthropy and engagement.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with senior staff, colleagues, and external partners.
  • Strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Discretion, tact, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
