Position Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving new business opportunities, including lead qualification and solution design across various sectors of the photonics industry. This role involves regular interaction with clients regarding specifications, pricing, product availability, and services, as well as contract negotiations and the coordination of design and manufacturing resources for tailored solutions.

Working Schedule: Monday to Friday, with flexible working options available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical guidance and support to our global clientele, focusing on pre-sales inquiries.
  • Utilize industry knowledge and robust customer relationships to uncover further business opportunities as client needs evolve.
  • Identify new markets and industries for Thorlabs to engage with.
  • Manage the sales pipeline using CRM tools, from initial qualification to closing deals.
  • Deliver market insights to R&D and Marketing Communication teams.
  • Conduct equipment demonstrations and engage with customers at industry conferences and trade shows.
  • Occasionally accompany the external sales team on customer visits to offer technical expertise.

Work Environment:

This is a hybrid role, allowing work from a modern facility as well as from home.

Qualifications:

  • Essential experience with optical setups, laboratory environments, or photonics equipment.
  • A degree in Physics, Optics, Chemistry, or Engineering is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for interactions with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Strong organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting.
  • Comfortable presenting concepts to large audiences.
