Position Overview:

The successful applicant will be responsible for driving new business opportunities, including lead assessment and solution crafting across various sectors of the photonics field. This role involves regular interaction with clients regarding specifications, pricing, product availability, and services, as well as contract discussions and the coordination of design and manufacturing resources for tailored solutions.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Hybrid work model available)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical guidance and support to our global clientele, focusing on pre-sales inquiries from both research and industrial sectors.
  • Utilize industry knowledge and robust customer relationships to uncover further business prospects as the needs of existing clients evolve.
  • Identify new markets and industries for Thorlabs to engage with.
  • Oversee the sales pipeline within the CRM system, from initial qualification to final closure.
  • Relay market insights to the R&D and Marketing Communication teams.
  • Conduct equipment demonstrations and engage with clients at industry conferences and trade exhibitions.
  • Occasionally accompany the external sales team on customer visits to provide technical insights.

Work Environment:

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, allowing you to work from our state-of-the-art facility as well as remotely. Our facility is conveniently located with accessible transport links.

Qualifications:

  • Essential hands-on experience with optical setups, laboratory environments, or photonics equipment.
  • A degree in Physics, Optics, Chemistry, or Engineering is preferred.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Strong organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting.
  • Comfortable presenting concepts to larger audiences.
