Position Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving new business opportunities, including lead qualification and solution development across various sectors of the photonics industry. This role involves regular interaction with clients regarding specifications, pricing, product availability, and services, along with contract negotiations and coordination of design and manufacturing resources for tailored solutions.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, with hybrid working options available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical guidance and support to our global clientele, focusing on pre-sales inquiries.
  • Utilize industry knowledge and strong customer relationships to uncover additional business opportunities as client needs evolve.
  • Identify new markets and industries for Thorlabs' innovative solutions.
  • Manage the sales pipeline using CRM tools, from lead qualification to deal closure.
  • Deliver market insights to the R&D and Marketing Communication teams.
  • Conduct equipment demonstrations and engage with customers at industry conferences and trade shows.
  • Collaborate with the external sales team to offer technical expertise during customer visits.

Work Environment:

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, combining time in our state-of-the-art facility with remote work options.

Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with optical systems, laboratory settings, or photonics equipment is essential.
  • A degree in Physics, Optics, Chemistry, or Engineering is preferred.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting.
  • Comfortable presenting technical concepts to larger audiences.
