About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Sales Specialist to join our team at Thorlabs. As a Technical Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for generating new business opportunities in the photonics industry, including lead qualification and solution development.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical advice and support to international customers, focusing on pre-sale enquiries and technical support.
- Leverage industry expertise and strong customer relationships to identify additional business opportunities as existing customers' needs grow.
- Identify new markets and industries for Thorlabs to support.
- Manage the sales pipeline within our CRM system, from qualification to close.
- Provide market feedback to our R&D and Marketing Communication teams.
- Present equipment demonstrations and interact with customers at conferences and trade fairs.
- Visit customers alongside our outside sales team to provide technical expertise when required.

Requirements
- First-hand experience with either optical setups, laboratory environments, or photonics equipment.
- A degree in Physics, Optics, Chemistry, or Engineering.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with internal and external customers.
- Fluent in English.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong data analysis and reporting skills.
- Comfortable presenting concepts to a large audience.
