About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Sales Engineer to join our team at Thorlabs. As a Technical Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for generating new business opportunities, including lead qualification and solution development in the photonics industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical advice and support to international customers, focusing on pre-sale enquiries and technical support.
  • Leverage industry expertise and strong customer relationships to identify additional business opportunities as existing customers' needs grow.
  • Find new markets and industries for Thorlabs to support.
  • Manage the sales pipeline within CRM, from qualification to close.
  • Provide market feedback to R&D and Marketing Communication groups.
  • Present equipment demonstrations and interact with customers at conferences and trade fairs.
  • Visit customers alongside the outside sales team to provide technical expertise when required.

Requirements
  • First-hand experience with optical setups, laboratory environments, or photonics equipment is essential.
  • A degree in Physics, Optics, Chemistry, or Engineering is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with internal and external customers are necessary.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills are necessary.
  • Comfortable presenting concepts to a large audience.
