Photonics Solutions Sales Engineer

Position Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving new business opportunities, including lead qualification and tailored solution development across various sectors of the photonics industry. This role involves regular engagement with clients regarding specifications, pricing, product availability, and services, as well as contract negotiations and the coordination of design and manufacturing resources for bespoke solutions.
Working Schedule: Monday to Friday, flexible hours (Hybrid working options available)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical guidance and support to our global clientele, focusing on pre-sales inquiries.
- Utilize industry knowledge and robust customer relationships to uncover further business opportunities as client needs evolve.
- Identify new markets and sectors for Thorlabs to penetrate.
- Manage the sales pipeline using CRM tools, from lead qualification to closing deals.
- Deliver market insights to R&D and Marketing Communication teams.
- Conduct equipment demonstrations and engage with customers at industry conferences and trade shows.
- Occasionally accompany the external sales team on customer visits to offer technical expertise.

Work Environment:
This is a hybrid role, allowing work from our state-of-the-art facility as well as remote work options. Our facility is conveniently located with accessible transport links.
Candidate Requirements:
- Hands-on experience with optical systems, laboratory settings, or photonics equipment is essential.
- A degree in Physics, Optics, Chemistry, or Engineering is preferred.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for interaction with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Strong organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficient in data analysis and reporting.
- Comfortable presenting technical concepts to large audiences.
