Position Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving new business initiatives, including lead assessment and solution crafting across various sectors of the photonics market. This role involves regular engagement with clients regarding specifications, pricing, product availability, and services, along with contract discussions and the orchestration of design and manufacturing resources for tailored solutions.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Hybrid work model available)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical guidance and support to our global clientele, spanning both research and industry, with an emphasis on pre-sales inquiries.
  • Utilize industry knowledge and robust customer relationships to uncover further business opportunities as the needs of existing clients evolve.
  • Identify new markets and sectors for Thorlabs to engage with.
  • Oversee the sales pipeline within the CRM system, from initial qualification through to closing.
  • Deliver market insights to the R&D and Marketing Communication teams.
  • Conduct equipment demonstrations and engage with customers at industry conferences and trade shows.
  • When necessary, accompany the external sales team on customer visits to provide technical insights.

Work Environment:

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, combining time in our state-of-the-art facility with remote work. Our facility is conveniently located with accessible transport links.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven experience with optical systems, laboratory settings, or photonics equipment is essential.
  • A degree in Physics, Optics, Chemistry, or Engineering is preferred.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for interaction with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Strong organizational capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting.
  • Comfortable presenting technical concepts to larger audiences.
