London, Greater London, United Kingdom St Giles Trust Full time

Position Overview

Are you a motivated, detail-oriented professional with a successful track record in crafting funding proposals for substantial grants? Do you possess strong communication skills and aspire to advance your career in fundraising?

If this resonates with you, consider joining St Giles as a Grants and Philanthropy Coordinator. In this pivotal role within our Fundraising Team, you will primarily focus on generating income from charitable trusts, foundations, and individual donors. You will serve as the primary liaison for around 30 trusts and foundations, overseeing prospect research and the application process for both unrestricted and restricted funding.

About St Giles Trust
We are a dynamic and established charity dedicated to assisting individuals facing challenges in securing employment, housing, and essential support. Our core belief is that individuals with personal experiences of overcoming adversities, such as criminal backgrounds, homelessness, addiction, and gang involvement, are instrumental in fostering positive change in others.

Key Responsibilities

As a Grants and Philanthropy Coordinator, you will:

  • Develop, nurture, and manage a portfolio of charitable trusts, foundations, and donors capable of contributing up to £20,000.
  • Submit applications to a variety of trusts and grant-making organizations that can provide four, five, and six-figure annual grants, ensuring alignment with their objectives and St Giles Trust's mission.
  • Conduct thorough prospect research to identify new funding avenues, contributing to the growth of unrestricted income for St Giles Trust.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of grant-making entities, the charitable sector, and emerging trends to identify and leverage relevant opportunities.
  • Oversee the creation of detailed and timely impact reports for existing donors, ensuring accuracy in research and maintaining thorough documentation.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of fundraising events.

Qualifications

  • At least one year of experience in an administrative capacity.
  • Proven ability to research, identify, and tailor approaches to charitable trusts and foundations.
  • Experience in managing relationships with external stakeholders or supporters, ideally within a charity or voluntary organization.
  • Familiarity with supporting fundraising events and creating engaging content for social media.
  • Capability to meet targets and adhere to tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong prioritization, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A flexible, collaborative, and professional work ethic.

As an organization committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our clients, successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced Child and Adult with Child Barred DBS Check.

We encourage individuals with personal experiences related to the criminal justice system or those who have faced similar challenges to apply for this position.

In return, we offer a competitive salary, generous leave entitlements, a staff pension scheme, flexible working arrangements, a mentoring program, access to counseling services, clinical therapy sessions, life insurance (equivalent to four times the annual salary), duvet days, a season ticket loan, an employee perks program, eye care vouchers, and much more.
