About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Philanthropy Manager to join our Development Group at the Natural History Museum. The successful candidate will be responsible for securing and managing grants from trusts and foundations to support the Museum's mission to create a Natural History Museum for the future.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a trusts and foundations strategy to secure funding for the Museum's capital development, acquisitions, and exhibitions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with trusts and foundations, identifying new opportunities and cultivating existing partnerships.
  • Research and craft compelling proposals, ensuring a strong understanding of the Museum's needs and goals.
  • Provide excellent stewardship, ensuring timely and effective reporting and communication with funders.
  • Work collaboratively with the Senior Philanthropy Manager and the wider Philanthropy team to achieve the Museum's fundraising goals.
About You

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Experience in securing and managing grants from trusts and foundations.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with the ability to convey detailed information in a concise and engaging manner.
  • An ability to establish productive relationships with a variety of funders, prospects, and colleagues.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet regular deadlines.
