The Housing and Homelessness Programme is a strategic initiative within Oak Philanthropy (UK) Limited, focused on supporting organizations to end homelessness and create housing opportunities. We fund projects across the UK and US, prioritizing locations that align with our current strategy.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Programme Associate to join our Housing and Homelessness Programme team. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the programme director, manage the grant-making project management system, and contribute to the design and implementation of the programme strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Grant Management and Research
    • Conduct research on housing and homelessness issues to inform grant-making decisions
    • Manage the grant-making project management system and monitor the grant-making budget
    • Oversee the regular analysis of the grant-making portfolio and review outcomes/learning
  • Administrative Support
    • Provide administrative support to the programme director, including managing their diary and organizing events
    • Support programme officers with grant development and writing progress reports
    • Contribute to Oak-wide working groups and provide administrative support to the London office
  • Communications and Liaison
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of the programme's communications plan
    • Coordinate and connect with grantee partners to gather evidence, publications, and multimedia
    • Perform a liaison function between Oak's IT team and manage the programme's IT infrastructure
Requirements
  • University degree preferred but not essential
  • 3-5 years' experience of working for a not-for-profit organization or development organization, ideally in a housing and homelessness policy and research
  • Highly organized and able to juggle a wide range of responsibilities
  • Experience of using social media for research and communications
  • Demonstrable experience and confidence in Microsoft applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated openness and capacity to learn quickly
