We are seeking a dedicated Housing Support Worker to join our team at Newham Community Renewal Programme Ltd. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in providing effective and high-quality support and resettlement services to vulnerable single homeless adults.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct interviews and assessments to determine the suitability of prospective tenants.
- Induct new tenants into their local community, ensuring they understand their rights and responsibilities.
- Develop and review support plans with tenants, coordinating with other professionals involved in their care.
- Hold keywork sessions with designated tenants and conduct regular risk assessments.
- Provide information, advice, and advocacy on welfare benefits, education, budgeting, and independent living skills.
- Liaise with external support service providers and foster connections with community groups.
- Recommend permanent housing options and provide support and advice to successfully moved-on tenants.
- Uphold health and safety standards and maintain positive relationships with the local community.
You will be a natural communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, possessing a supportive and non-judgmental approach. Your ability to work within policies, procedures, and regulations is essential to maintain a safe and effective environment.
