Night Operations Supervisor – WHSmith – Gatwick South Terminal

Contract Type: Permanent

Working hours: 3 on 3 off, 6pm till 6am

As a Night Operations Supervisor at our Gatwick South Terminal location, you will motivate and guide your team to deliver outstanding customer service, achieve business goals, and foster a workplace that encourages colleague growth and success. We aim for our customers and team members to take pride in their experiences with us.

Airport Requirements:

5 years of continuous references – to obtain an airport pass, you must provide 5 years' worth of employment or educational references without any gaps. Criminal Records Bureau Check – to be conducted by WHSmith upon successful application. Valid Photographic ID, such as a passport or UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities of a Night Operations Supervisor:

Leading and engaging your team to uphold excellent standards and achieve results in accordance with the Trading plan. Fostering a culture of learning, support, and recognition by identifying opportunities for personal skill development, product knowledge, and self-awareness. Assisting colleagues in an environment where everyone feels appreciated and included. Instilling a sense of pride within the store to ensure compliance with safety and legal standards.

Desired Qualifications:

Current or recent leadership experience in retail (or a similar field), preferably in a fast-paced setting, with a solid understanding of KPIs such as ATV. Proven ability to lead by example, actively participating and supporting your team on the shop floor. Flexibility to assist other locations in the area as required. Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to communicate effectively. Experience in facilitating employee training and development, motivating teams to excel.
